A very warm welcome to the class page of Year 2D

My name is Mrs Davies and I am the class teacher. We are very lucky to have the fantastic Mrs Thomas and Mrs O'Brien to support our learning in Year 2. Together, we make a great team (if I do say so myself!)

In Year 2, we learn about some interesting topics, which always start with a question, including: ‘Could you live on the Moon?’. ‘Who was Robert Peel?’ and ‘Which came first? The chicken or the egg?’. I can’t wait to share with you which is my favourite topic!

Although we have a main theme to our learning and all of the curriculum subjects are covered within each mini topic, we also complete investigations and experiments in science, listen to lots of different music styles and enjoy computing in our ICT suite.

We follow the Read, Write, Inc. programme to support our phonics learning but, as we start to become much more independent with our reading, there are lots of fabulous new books in school to choose from. We have a list of 50 books to read before you leave Key Stage 1 and hope you’re up for the challenge!
