Reception RK

Hello, a huge welcome to our Reception class page. Our teachers are Mrs Kulyn for the morning session and Mrs Kenyon for the afternoon session. Mrs Parry is our wonderful teaching assistant.

Reception is where the magic happens. We are so lucky to be surrounded by such bright, imaginative and resilient young people. We learn important life skills such as sharing with others, becoming independent thinkers and problem solvers. We use our rapidly developing language to express our needs whilst having fun with our friends. We are so lucky to have wonderful indoor and outdoor learning spaces, where we can develop all kinds of skills.

Our topics throughout the year help us to explore the wonderful world around us. We learn about our bodies, transport, our local area … as well as everyone’s favourite, reading tons and tons of stories! We love to go on trips and walks to help us experience things first hand. Each day we learn to read and write though the Read Write Inc programme; our children never cease to amaze us with their brilliance at learning and applying their phonics knowledge.
